Position Summary

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and timely operation of commercial motor vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and/or freight to and from job sites, suppliers, and customers. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism while representing the company. This position is a union position and requires union affiliation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations, union agreements, and company policies
  • Transport materials, equipment, and/or freight to designated locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly
  • Secure and properly load/unload cargo as required
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, time records, and required documentation
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, job-site rules, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and job-site personnel
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
  • Represent the company and union in a professional manner at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record
  • Must be a current union laborer or union operator, or eligible and willing to join the applicable union
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices 
  • Experience operating construction-related equipment or hauling materials preferred
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork mindset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks multiple times per day
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. as required
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

  • Construction job sites, plants, and public roadways
  • Local and/or regional routes
  • Day shift with overtime as required
