Schnucks Frontenac Asphalt & Drainage Improvements

Our team partnered with Schnucks and The DESCO Group to complete asphalt improvements at the Schnucks Frontenac shopping center. The project focused on improving deteriorated pavement and enhancing drivability at this compact, high-traffic retail property.
After evaluating the site, we identified that groundwater beneath the pavement was contributing to premature asphalt failure. In addition to milling and resurfacing the main drive lanes and high-use parking areas, our team installed underground drainage systems, including French drains, to address the root cause and protect the long-term performance of the new surface.
Because the property is served by only two entrances and supports constant customer and delivery traffic, careful coordination was essential. We divided the work into three phases and scheduled crews to begin early in the morning, completing removals, paving, and striping the same day so the lot was fully operational by mid-afternoon. The project was completed on budget, and the client was pleased with both the process and the final result.
