City of Washington, MO Riverfront Parking Lot Paving & Installation

Project Client: City of Washington, MO

The City of Washington needed to address two parking lots near the Missouri River. One of the lots, located near the historic train station, had become heavily cracked and worn, presenting both aesthetic and functional challenges for the city. Additionally, the city had constructed a new lot with a rock base and curbs but required a professional paving contractor to pave the surface with asphalt. With an upcoming need to provide additional parking for the train station and the city’s riverfront, the city put out a public bid to resolve these issues.

E. Meier Contracting was awarded the work to complete both the repaving of the older lot and the final paving of the newly constructed parking area. The project involved milling the old lot’s surface before laying fresh asphalt, and then grading the new lot’s rock base before adding pavement. We worked closely with the city’s chief engineer and other stakeholders involved in permitting and compliance, and the project was completed efficiently within a week.

The project delivered a much-needed improvement to the city’s riverfront parking facilities. The city was impressed with the high-quality work and professionalism shown by our team, which resulted in a smoother, more durable parking surface that increased both capacity and safety for visitors to the area.
